We are currently seeking applications for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Teacher of Outdoor Education, in a full-time, permanent position. In this pivotal role you will shape, refine and maintain the overarching vision and philosophy for Education outside the classroom (EOTC) across all areas of the College. You will empower teaching staff, manage robust safety management systems and lead/instruct on transformative outdoor experiences for our learners. As a teacher, you will be passionate about academic and personal success, able to cultivate a learning community, and desire to provide a genuine learner-centred education.

At Rolleston College, we strive to provide contextual learning opportunities that empower our learners with choice and agency while still acquiring the necessary skills, knowledge, and qualifications. We believe in the concept of AKO and that we are all learners. Collaborative practice is fundamental to our curriculum and educational philosophy.

As a restorative practice school, we strongly believe in building and enhancing positive professional relationships with our learners. All teachers are expected to be involved in our whānau system and actively provide mentoring and academic counselling to students in a warm and demanding way.
