Are you a highly organised administration professional with a heart for community, culture and student wellbeing?

We are seeking an enthusiastic and culturally responsive Te Ao Māori Administrator to be the welcoming face and operational heart of our administration space. In this varied role, you will provide exceptional administrative support while serving as a trusted first point of contact for staff, ākonga, whānau, and visitors. Working closely with the team, you will help ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the space, creating a safe, inclusive, and culturally affirming environment that supports our bilingual learning programme and reflects the values of Rolleston College.

The successful applicant will have:

  • A warm, approachable, and culturally responsive manner, with a genuine commitment to supporting ākonga, whānau, and colleagues.
  • Confidence communicating in both te reo Māori and English, with the ability to build positive relationships with ākonga, whānau, staff, and the wider community.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and confidentiality. With proven experience in administration, reception, customer service, or a similar customer-facing role; experience in an educational environment is an advantage.
  • Strong digital literacy, including proficiency with Google Workspace and, ideally, KAMAR or another Student Management System.
  • An understanding of, and respect for, te ao Māori, tikanga Māori, and the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
  • Sound judgement, professionalism, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.

This is a fixed-term, part-time term-time-only position of 20 hours per week concluding 15th December 2026. Subject to ongoing operational requirements and confirmed funding, there may be an opportunity for the role to become permanent.  Depending on qualifications, skills and experience, we have this role banded at Grade 3 of the Admin Matrix in the Support Staff Collective Agreement.
